It happens every day. Clients going through a divorce, or any family law matter, change lawyers during their case. It’s simply a fact of life. Sometimes the lawyer just doesn’t get the intricacies of divorce court or, perhaps, the client and the lawyer just don’t get along.

Ms. Lloyd believes in a settlement-based approach, so as to save clients resources and resolve their matters expediently. This approach is crucial in family law as many clients are fighting for the things that matter most- their homes, their property, and their children. However, when settlement through resolution will not bring her clients the optimum result, Ms. Lloyd is prepared to bring her cases to trial and will battle zealously for her clients.
Ms. Lloyd practices in areas of divorce and family law including premarital and postnuptial agreements, child support, child custody (principally in matters involving the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act) visitation, maintenance, property division, financial matters, parentage matters and post-judgment issues such as enforcement and modification of judgments. Additionally, Ms. Lloyd has experience in Illinois appellate litigation and is prepared to guide her clients through the complicated appellate process should they seek to appeal their case.
An area of great importance to Ms. Lloyd are cases involving children. Too often, parents use children as leverage over their spouses in an attempt to further their own interests in divorce proceedings.
